As a young man, Robert  Miller was very caring for his family in Clifton Forge, VA.  He often took care of his younger siblings, making sure they ate well, to having their hair and clothing in order.

Robert graduated from High School as Valedictorian, he then attended Virginia University where he met his wife Rebecca.  After graduating from college, they were married.  The  day he was assigned to teach History at a Virginia High School, he was called to active duty in the U.S. Army.  Robert was stationed in several  states.  Denver, CO became his home after becoming very ill and was flown to the Veteran's Hospital for care.  Robert was very popular within his community, having friends of every nationality who would come to their house for dinner on a weekly basis.

In his professional life he was a Clinical Psychiatric Social Worker and interacted with various communities reaching out as far as Walsenberg, CO at the Spanish Peaks Mental Health facility.

Robert also purchased rental property to eventually teach Jocelyn about the importance of owning real estate.  RAMERC is a prime example of this lesson.  The building has been in the Miller family for over 35 years.

Robert  left a legacy...  He truly cared about people and worked hard at helping them to have self- sustainment.  He always saw the best in everyone and always had a good word to say.

With Robert being such a strong influence her entire life, his daughter Jocelyn could not help but to dedicate this center to her beloved father, therefore naming it The Robert A. Miller Educational Resource Center.
